Refund Policy

Short version: We offer a 14-day free trial on the Lab plan so you can evaluate before paying. Outside of billing errors, we generally do not offer refunds on subscription periods already used. If something went wrong on our end, email us — we will make it right.

1. Free trial

The Lab plan includes a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time during the trial at no cost — no questions asked. This is the best way to evaluate whether Kestrel Signal works for you before committing.

2. Cancellations

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal (Settings → Billing → Manage). Cancellation stops future charges. Your access continues until the end of the current paid period — we do not cut off access mid-period.

3. Refunds we will grant

We will issue a full refund in these situations:

  • Billing error — you were charged the wrong amount or charged after cancelling
  • Duplicate charge — you were charged twice for the same period
  • Extended outage — the service was unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours during your paid period
  • First charge, unused — you subscribed, never logged in or used the platform, and request a refund within 48 hours of the charge

4. Refunds we do not offer

  • Partial refunds for unused days in a billing period
  • Refunds because a backtest result did not meet your expectations — software tools do not guarantee outcomes
  • Refunds after the free trial period has ended and the paid period has begun (except cases in section 3)
  • Annual plan refunds after 30 days from the charge date

5. Annual plans

Annual subscriptions are charged upfront for 12 months. If you cancel an annual plan within 30 days of the charge and have used the service for fewer than 30 days, we will refund the remaining months on a pro-rata basis. After 30 days, no refund is available but you retain access until the end of the annual period.

6. How to request a refund

Email us at hello@kestrelsignal.io with the subject line Refund Request. Include your registered email address and the reason for the request.

We will respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Paddle (our payment processor) and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

7. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank before contacting us, your account will be suspended pending resolution. We encourage you to reach out to us first — we are a small team and we will resolve legitimate issues promptly.
